Privacy Policy

Gym Coach, operated by Carva Tech Solutions · Effective July 10, 2026

Gym Coach is built local-first: your training data lives on your phone, works without an account, and is sent to our servers only when you choose to back it up. We don't run ads, we don't use analytics trackers, and we never sell your data. This page explains exactly what the app collects, where it goes, and how to delete it.

Data that stays on your phone

Everything the app needs works entirely on your device: your training profile (goal, experience, schedule, equipment, and any body areas you asked us to protect), your generated program, your logged workouts, and the coaching engine's decisions. If you never sign in, none of this leaves your phone.

Conversations with the AI coach are not saved anywhere — not on our servers, and not on your phone. Each conversation exists only while the chat screen is open.

Data we store if you create an account

Creating an account (used for backup and the AI coach) is optional. You sign in with your email address and a one-time code — there is no password. When you back up, we store on our servers:

Our backend runs on Supabase, which hosts the database and handles sign-in on our behalf. Data is encrypted in transit, and each account's data is isolated so it can only be read by that account.

The AI coach

When you send a message to the coach, your message and a summary of your training (your profile, current program, recent workouts, and recent engine decisions) are sent to Anthropic, whose Claude model generates the reply. This happens per message, only when you use the chat. Anthropic processes this data to provide the response and does not use it to train its models. We do not store your messages or the replies.

Subscriptions

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat to know whether your subscription is active; it receives your purchase status from Apple, not your payment information. Subscription management and refunds are handled in your Apple account settings.

Notifications

The weekly check-in reminder is scheduled locally on your device. We don't collect push tokens and can't send you remote notifications.

What we don't do

Retention and deletion

We keep your backed-up data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time inside the app (Profile → Backup & sync → Delete account). Deletion is immediate and permanent: your account and all backed-up data — profile, screening answers, history, and usage counts — are removed from our servers. The data on your phone stays on your phone until you delete the app or start over.

Children

Gym Coach is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Where data is processed

Our servers and service providers are located in the United States. If you use the app from elsewhere, your backed-up data is transferred to and processed there.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. The app covers the common ones directly — restore gives you a copy of your data, and account deletion removes it — and you can contact us for anything else. We will respond to any request at the address below.

A note on health

Gym Coach provides fitness programming, not medical advice. The screening questionnaire exists to prompt you to check with a doctor when that's the right call — please take that prompt seriously.

Changes to this policy

If we change what data we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be called out in the app.
